Marcela Chandía

We are pleased to welcome winemaker Marcela Chandía as a new addition to the Viña Calina team, under the supervision of our new General Manager, Victor Baeza. Her academic studies and her professional experience confirm that she is a winemaker of many talents. She obtained her degree of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Chile in Valparaiso in 1999 and a degree in Technology of wine production in 2003. After her first harvest in Chile in 2001, Marcela decided to cross the world, in order to broaden her viticulture knowledge and experience. With different levels of responsibility, she participated in harvests in the following countries:

  • Today, Marcela brings her passion to the "Valle de Maule" region and the wines of Viña Calina

    In her personal life, Marcela spends what short amount of free time she has between reading and mountain biking. During her stays in foreign countries, she developed her gastronomical passion and it can be said without exaggerating that her elaboration of the "pastel de choclo" (a traditional Chilean corn and meat dish) now has international recognition! Her incorporation to the Viña Calina winemaking team, with direction from consultant Andres Sanchez and Randy Ullom (a winemaker from Jackson Family Wines), corresponds to a philosophy of work based on professionalism and a diverse winemaking vision.
