Calina Reserva, Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2001 harvest in Colchagua Valley and in all the country , was characterized by a dry winter and a cool spring, allowing a long period of maturity without rains. In terms of quality we could compare it to 1999 vintage. It is without doubts, one of the best harvests of the decade.

Casablanca Valley
Calina Reserva, Chardonnay

Inside Casablanca Valley, this year was very good, with a warm Spring, due to that the harvest started earlier. Like previous year, all the maturity period was free from rains. The quality of whites produced in the valley was very good.

Harvest 2002
Maule Valley
Calina Reserva, Merlot

The year 2002 was specially rainy at the end of the season, this affected mainly Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon of the region. In the case of Merlot, there was no problem since it comes from coastal areas of the valley with breezes and good exposure, ideal for maturity process.
The harvest was earlier than previous year due to a warm Spring.

Harvest 2003
Colchagua Valley
Alcance, Cabernet Sauvignon

In the case of 2003, the harvest was of great quality like years 1999 and 2001. In the maturity period there were a few cloudy days, and high oscillation of temperatures between day and night.
There were no rains in the area until the end of the season. This year the production was naturally down to 10%.

Alcance, Carménère y Merlot
This year we had excellent weather conditions, which allowed to do the harvest in the right moment. Warm weather and a long maturity period without rains permitted to produce great Merlot in the costal area and Carmenere in the central valley.
Merlot harvest date: March 25 to April 17 th
Carménère harvest date: April 23th to May 1st
